The atlas opens on your general region, worked out from your computer's time zone — no location request, no IP address, nothing sent anywhere. A time zone points at its main city, so use Open here next time to pin your own view; it is stored only in this browser.
Units apply to routes, measuring, the scale bar, temperature and precipitation. Presentation mode enlarges labels and markers for the projector. Measure: click points, double-click to finish.
    ℹ About
Base maps: OpenStreetMap, Esri satellite imagery, OpenTopoMap, CARTO, and the Digital Atlas of the Roman Empire. Biblical locations are placed at commonly identified sites; where identification is traditional or debated, popups say so. Historic region boundaries are simplified for teaching. Country statistics from the World Bank open API; live weather from Open-Meteo and RainViewer. Detailed climate map: Köppen–Geiger classification, observed 1976–2000 (Rubel & Kottek 2010). City populations are approximate urban-area figures for scale comparison. Scripture text: World English Bible (public domain) via bible-api.com.
